Make sure that you save your pictures as JPEG (.jpg) format through Photoshop. Also make sure that the resolution when you scan is 72 dpi.
The logo is looking good.
On your final logo there is still too much detail going on in the girl portion. The upper shark portion is a good example for level of detail. Think about the overall shape of the image and look closer at clean simple shapes.
